Yigal Azrouel. Need I say more? Weirdly, he wasn’t surrounded by hugs-n-kissers immediately after the show. Maybe I just scooted in early and beat the crush.
Here’s the final run of Nanette Lepore’s Fall 2011 show in NY, an undersung (though extremely successful) designer who consistently caters to women who want to be feminine and have some frilly attitude in places where some people might expect them to be wearing….Armani.
Sophie Theallet always mezmerizes me with thoughtful details that don’t necessarily show up on screen. I had the opportunity to see her collection up close a few days before yesterday’s show. The fabrics were so soft, I wanted to rub my face on them. This is the kind of collection that could dress you for a season. The tailored suits are new for her - they don’t brag, they just look perfect. Apologies for my shaky hand … here’s the final lap of her show, which was at Milk Studios on Tuesday afternoon.
Marc by Marc Jacobs was all grown up, very seventies. Here’s the last lap by the models, so you can see the whole show yourselves!
This was one of my favorite looks from Narciso’s show, by WSJ photographer Kurt Wilberding. Graceful colorblocking. That rust is the color of the season —- we’ve seen it on a lot of runways.
Marc Jacobs was a wild rollercoaster ride of proper clothing. Here’s the final run of the his Fall/Winter 2011, on video. Enjoy!
